The (Quick) 5 Step Career Plan
But fear not! We have some great idea’s for you to get started and get into your next career.
1. Research
When we say research, we mean two things. First take some time out
and figure out what you really want to do. What are your interests?
Your skills?
Your talents? Your experience? Take all of these into
consideration and create a running list. Keep these in mind as you push
forward.
Second, do some research on those items on your list. Check out the industries, the job outlook, salary, and see what the possibilities are.
2. Identify
Identify what positions you would fit in, what companies you would like to work for and what connections you already have that could help connect you to that.
3. Take Action
Now is the time to get in touch with those contacts, apply to those jobs and start taking the steps necessary to make things happen! This may mean you start a blog, take out a Facebook or Google Ad, or simply talk to that neighbor who knows someone at a company you’d like to work for.
4. Review
Once you’ve taken action, it’s time to take another step back and see
where you’ve gotten after a week or two. What did you do that worked?
Do more of it. What did you do that didn’t work?
Think of ways that you can do it more effectively. In the review stage is a great time to take a look at your running list of what you want to do. How do you feel about those items listed? Are they still what you want? Really ask yourself the tough questions, you’ll be much happier in the end.
5. React
Now that you know from the review process what works and what doesn’t, take action again to see this through.
