Find a Job with the Help of Your Friends

16/06/2010 01:35 pm
Haven’t tried out our new Facebook integration yet? Well, now’s the perfect time for a little job searching with the help of your friends. One of the aspects of our new integration with Facebook is the ability to see where all of your friends work.

With this information, you can then reach out to them to learn more about job opportunities and even get referrals. Below is a more in-depth look into this piece of our new integration:

* Search for jobs by company. After arriving to the SimplyHired.com homepage and logging-in to your Facebook account by clicking the blue “Login to Facebook” button, you’ll see a list of your friends and their workplaces appear. After the first-time you log-in to the integration, you won’t have to log-in again. However, you can log-out at any time you wish.

To see all of your friends, simply click the “see all” button. This will take you to a list of all your Facebook friends by company. Now, you can browse through all of your friends’ companies, and you might even be surprised to find connections at companies you didn’t even know about! This list will show you the past and current workplaces of your friends so that you can leverage every connection you have.

* Search for jobs by friends. Normally, during your job search you’d go to your friends and ask them about openings at their company. With Simply Hired’s new Facebook integration, you can now do that online in real-time! Just click “By Friends” in the left side bar and voilà! You’ll see your Facebook friends listed alphabetically so you can search for friends easily. To see the open jobs at your friends’ companies, just click the link to their company below their name, and it will take you to a list of open positions.

* Fun facts? Yes, please! Want to learn more about your social network? Check out the “Fun Facts” section to see the most popular companies and locations as deemed so by your Facebook friends. You can also see recommended job searches based on your current location, interests and past and current job titles.
